Valley Mixed Slo-Pitch League Association
VMSL Year-End Tournament Rules:
The V.M.S.L. will follow SPN (Slo-Pitch National) Official Rules and V.M.S.L. regular season rules, with the following additions or amendments.
TIME LIMIT :
- No new inning to start after 70 minutes.
- Friday and Saturday games will have NO extra innings due to time restrictions.
- Sunday games, if tied, will be settled by International Rules until the game is won.
- The only exception being the ‘A’ and ‘B’ final games which will be allowed ONE regular extra inning, followed by International Rule if required.
PLAYER ELIGABILITY:
- All players in the year-end tournament must have played at least 6 regular season games and be on the roster by June 1.
- Should a team contest the eligibility of a player, score sheets must be produced to prove a players attendance at 6 games.
- Concerns over eligibility of players on another team should be brought to the attention of league executive.
- Ejection of players who are not eligible to play in league is at the discretion of the league executive.
- Any Teams short players during the Year End Tournament must obtain executive approval for any players picked up during the round robin to cover absences
GRACE PERIOD:
- Ten minutes is allowed after start time to field a team (Minimum of 9 players, with at least 3 female) before a game is defaulted.
- On Friday and Saturday only, if a team is short players, they may pick up players from another team in this league.
- Any pickups must be agreed to by the opposing team.
- On Sunday, all players must be on team roster. NO PICKUPS.
- Extreme circumstances to be reviewed by the League Executive
DIVISION SELECTION:
Relegation to ‘A’ or ‘B’ Division will be determined as follows:
1. Points ( Win = 2 points, Tie = 1 point)
2. Plus Minus run factor ( +7, -7 )
3. Actual score, plus minus differential
4. Total runs scored
5. Total runs allowed
6. Revert back in order
7. Flip a coin
HOME TEAM:
Decided by coin flip with an SPN Umpire
ADDITIONAL RULES & REMINDERS:
- All Games are played at Brown Road Park
- Sunday is Single Knockout
- Teams are encourgaged to stick around, or come back for the Finals, the awards presentation will be held directly after the Final Games on the A Diamond
- Plan ahead, Drinking & Driving is not tolerated
- Third Strike Foul: A batter is out on the first foul ball hit after the second strike.
- All tournament players must have played 6 regular season games and be on the SPN roster by June 1.
- No jewelry.
- Diamond “A” is by the playground (E), and Diamond “B” is by the concession (W).
- Don’t step on or across the plate when batting or you will be liable to be called out for stepping out of the batter’s box.
- 4 straight balls to a male batter, with a female on deck - batter gets two bases, female must bat.
- Don’t forget the SIX-PACK rule if you argue with the Umpire!!
